Bearing Models
IBG Monforts offers a wide selection of friction bearings using PTFE slide plates for varied applications.
Flat friction bearing These bearings are always applied if no angular translation is to be expected.

Point pivot bearing Point pivot bearings are always recommendable if angular translations must be borne by the bearing. The standard guiding bearings allow about 10% of the bearing load as horizontal load. Larger horizontal loads require larger PTFE glide plates for lateral guide and therefore usually a larger vertical size.

Cup-shaped bearings Cup-shaped bearings are able to accept larger angular translation, just like point pivot bearings. The cup allows a smaller vertical size.

High temperature bearings For connection temperatures in excess of 180°C at the upper cleaving grain, a temperature reduction to the admissible range is achieved by use of a suitable insulating material. Connection temperatures up to about 600°C are manageable.

IBG cup bearing "MONSLIDE HT" with approval of the building authorities Plant construction in part has similarly high requirements of safety and monitoring for use of PTFE friction bearings. There are often added requirements in the high temperature range. In those cases, we supply our "MONSLIDE-HT" bearings with approval of the building authorities.

Bearing surface using PTFE glide plates All of our PTFE bearing surfaces consist of PTFE glide plates integrated in a steel holder. The steel holder (steel plate) is designed for welding or bolting, depending on the model. The PTFE bearing surface in connection with an opposed bearing produces a fully functional friction bearing.

Pipe friction bearing Friction bearings are often used for construction of pipelines. Our range contains complete solutions for almost all fields of application.

Custom constructions (examples)
- Guided PTFE flat friction bearing with lift-off protection
- PTFE bearing surface with dust protection
- Line pivot bearing
- Pipe friction bearing with cup support for high connection temperatures
- PTFE flat friction bearing for increased connection temperatures
- Fixed point bearing with heat decoupling
Opposed Bearing
To ensure the low friction constant, a stainless steel plate
2 mm thick - material 1.4404 or
3 mm thick - material 1.4301
must be used.
Surface properties according to DIN 17440, peak-to-valley height Rz max. 1 µm
Suitable opposed bearings are available in many variations. Of course, we also offer cut stainless steel plates for further processing.
Standard bearings are not able to cover every requirement. We are specialized on offering custom constructions for almost any application. Please send us the completed checklist.
